^lpt^aEste artigo é sobre a trajetória de Beatriz Barbosa, migrante alagoana no Rio de Janeiro, onde atuou principalmente como prostituta, entre 1919 e 1948. O estigma de vadia, palavra guarda-chuva para todas as suas contravenções e delitos - e de milhares de brasileiros que tiveram destinos comuns - a colocou num redemoinho de detenções, penas, recolhimentos em asilo de mendigos e internações em manicômios. Processos judiciais e dezenas de notícias nas páginas policiais contra ela possibilitaram que se constituísse uma persona transgressora. Nos trinta anos que deixou rastros é possível entrever a história a contrapelo das instituições disciplinares que percorreu e refletir sobre os significados de sua resistência, coragem e violência frente à condição permanente de indesejada.^len^aThis article summarize the path of Beatriz Barbosa, a migrant from Alagoas to Rio de Janeiro, where she worked mostly as a prostitute, between 1919 and 1948. The slut stigma, the term that encapsulated all of her transgressions and mischiefs (and of thousands of brazilians that shared the same destiny), drove her to a spiral of detentions, criminal charges, homeless asylums and mental hospital internment. Through the research of tens of news articles written abour Beatriz at her time and criminal and clinical records we can see a trasngressive persona emerge. Along the more than 30 years of her historical tracks is possible to historicize the scope of disciplinary institutions that she was subjected and to reflect on the meanings of her resistance, courage and violence against her permanent conditon of unwanted.
