Down Syndrome (DS) is characterized by a chromosomal disorder, whose clinical picture is explained by an imbalance present in the constitution of the chromosomes, with the presence of three copies of the chromosome 21. The evaluation of quality of life (QoL) has been increasingly used in the Health area. Also, the concern with the QoL of caregivers of people with some disturbance has a huge importance, because the commitment of this one, can interfere in a negative way in the process of rehabilitation of the person taken care of. The objective of this study was to analyze articles that evaluate the QoL of parents and/or caregivers of individuals with DS, through Bireme and Pubmed databases. The method used was a bibliographic review using this descriptors: "Quality of life", "caregiver", "Down syndrome" e "family". Were found 161 published between 2006 and 2016. Of this total, 14 articles were used to compose this review according to criteria. It is concluded that the mother is the main caregiver of people with DS and indicate that the best QoL is directly related to social support, with an increase in the child's functional capacity and daily life activities.
