EVANGELISTA, Paulo Eduardo Rodrigues Alves. Suffering from one's own being: Alice Holzhey-Kunz's Daseinsanalysis and existence's pre-ontological inclusion as the ground of existential suffering. Nat. hum. [online]. 2019, vol.21, n.1, pp.120-128. ISSN 1517-2430.
In this article I present Daseinsanalysis as developed by Alice Holzhey-Kunz, who is a member of the second generation of daseinsanalists. I begin by pointing to her objetive of reintroducing hermeneutics in psychotherapy and making it more heideggerian and freudian. I then indicate the meaning of psychological suffering: it is suffering from one's own being, that is, from 'human' condition, such as described by Heidegger in Being and time. The key concept in this paradigm is 'pre-ontological inclusion', which means that every existence relates to its being. The human condition shows itself and limits everyday living in psychopathological modes of being. I end this article indicating consequences for psychotherapeutic practice.
