ALMEIDA, Leonor; NOGUEIRA, Sara Ibérico e SILVA, Joana Miranda da. Innovativeness and Creativity: A Study with Portuguese Workers. Psic [online]. 2008, vol.9, n.2, pp.183-196. ISSN 1676-7314.
It was aimed to analyze levels of tendency to innovation of the workers, considering their educational levels, age and gender. To study the correlation between those levels of tendencies and the creativity levels were also intended. The convenience sample had 211 subjects (84 males and 127 females), aging from 18 to 59 years old and worked in a Public Administration Organization. The Test for Creative Thinking-Drawing Production (TCT-DP) of K. Urban and H. Yellen (1996) and the Individual Innovativeness (II) of H. Hurt, K. Joseph and C. Cook (1977) were used. This study found differences in terms of levels of creativity and tendencies to innovation, favoring males (vs females) and the ages of 25-44 (vs 45-64). Significant differences in terms of creativity were also found favoring higher levels of schooling. The correlation between the levels of creativity and tendency to innovate is statistically significant but very weak.
