DALL'ASTA, Constanza. Work, precariousness and subjectivity in the modernization processes of the automotive industry. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2021, n.35, pp.15-30. ISSN 1870-350X.

Based on a study on the modernization processes of the automotive industry of Córdoba in the last three decades, one of the objectives was oriented to know the processes of subjectivation of precariousness in the workers of the automotive industry, from the perspective of development and health. Based on the biographical method, trajectories interviews were conducted with twelve workers in the production areas of local automotive companies (both terminals and suppliers). Among the main findings, it is observed that subjective precariousness responds to a depreciation of formalized work experiences, mainly due to the worsening of working conditions and the intensification of the production rate. A degradation of collective ties was also observed due to pressure from management, competition between peers and certain union practices. In this framework, workers experience significant uncertainty regarding the evolution of their professional careers and lack of recognition of their work, due to the existence of restrictions for the knowledge of the profession achieved to be integrated into the professional category systems.
