Although advances in medicine have enabled the discovery of more effective forms of treatment of oncological disease, cancer remains one of the most troubling diseases to the scientific community and society in general. Thus, their research based on bibliographical references, had as main objective to investigate the use of coping strategies for cancer patients and the potential benefits to your emotional frame. In particular, disease conditions such as cancer, coping strategies can be used both by the patient and the family, since the disease process is stressful characteristics for the characters involved, from the suspected diagnosis of the disease until stages of rehabilitation and psychological adjustment of the patient, in order to apply coping efforts of the situation, with the primary task to regain proper mental balance, to aid in clinical and psychosocial development of cancer carrier..
