BIAZUS, Camilla Baldicera. From spider mother to seamstress mother: the forms and movements of motherhood in the work of Louise. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2020, vol.42, n.70, pp.135-142. ISSN 0101-3106.

Bourgeois Louise Bourgeois was a forerunner of feminist art in the 1970s, in New York, for the autobiographical identity presented in her works and, also, for being one of the first artists to raise the theme of motherhood from her art. This study will seek to reflect on maternity movements considering three works by the artist, namely: "Spiral Woman" (1952/2003), "The Woven Child" (2002) and "Maman" (1999). From these sculptures, the place of motherhood in contemporary times is problematized, reflecting on the crossings of this experience to / in the woman's body and using Winnicott's theory as support to weave these reflections. Thus, it is expected with this article to use the art of Louise Bourgeois in conjunction with Winnicott's theory as a device that mobilizes new narratives about the place of motherhood in the constitution of women and the feminine.

Palavras-chave : Louise Bourgeois; Maternity; Winnicottian psychoanalysis.
