The Psychodiagnostic process in our country is one of the psychologist's exclusive functions. It is one of the modalities of acting in Psychological Assessment performed in clinical context. In spite of its historic contributions for Psychology as a science and profession, the Psychodiagnostic still suffers from a hectic period when many critiques were directed not only to the scientific validity of its instruments (tests and techniques) but also to its epistemological bases. There is a clear need to revisit the Psychodiagnostic process from a comprehensive perspective, discussing its theoretical framework from an approach that reconsiders the ontologic model from a relational perspective. The objective of this article is to present a reinterpretation of Psychoanalytical psychodiagnosis theory and practice through the ideas of Donald W. Winnicott. The discussion hereby conducted starts by problematizing the epistemological foundations of the traditional Psychodiagnostic process, seeking a relational comprehension of the use of psychological evaluation instruments and the diagnostic situation. To do so, the chosen theoretical approach aims at bringing forth a new understanding of the Psychodiagnostic process and of projective situations, considering works that involve concepts such as true self and false self, the spatula game, the therapeutic consultations in child psychiatry, the squiggle game, and Winnicott's discussion regarding the place of diagnosis in clinical practice. At the end, a clinical case is presented to demonstrate the concepts discussed
