GALVAO, Walnice Nogueira. Religious hybridism in the Brazilian literature. Imaginario [online]. 2006, vol.12, n.12, pp.369-385. ISSN 1413-666X.

Religious hybridism, or syncretism - as the mainstream of anthropological studies call it -, is a traditional presence in Brazilian literature. Since its beginnings as well in these days, our literature gives us a turmoil of heterogeneous religious elements. Our fiction may describe the fusion of Catholicism and Orisha cult, or else give a voice to the survival of Indian beliefs, amidst Christian practices learned from the missionaries.

Palavras-chave : Religion; Syncretism; Orisha cult; Catholicism; Fusion.
