GARBARINO, Mariana Inés. Market-science and childhood: psychoanalysis in the debate about medicalization and educational act. Estilos clin. [online]. 2020, vol.25, n.1, pp.135-150. ISSN 1415-7128.  https://doi.org/10.11606/issn.1981-1624.v25i1p135-150.

The medicalization of childhood is a topic of growing interest in the international academic debate and the presence of psychoanalysis in the problematization of this phenomenon is unquestionable. This article aims to map their contributions and reflect on how the discourse of medicalization is appropriated by educators producing changes in childhood ideals. It presents an analysis of the positions and conceptual references that psychoanalytical production mobilizes to approach and discuss the medicalizing rationality and its resonances in the way the educator thinks the child. It is intended to contribute to the deepening of the discussion about the conditions of the educational act, such as the generational transmission and the subject of desire, which are tensioned in the light of the logic of contemporary social marks such as immediacy, the fantasies of completeness and the annulment of riddle. This is a theoretical work sustained in the systematization of psychoanalytic productions, especially Brazilian and French, that approach the impasses of education related to the ideals of childhood promoted by its biologizing interpretation.
