MADEIRA, Manoel; ROBERT, Priscila Pereira e KUPERMANN, Daniel. Subjectivation of the Body: Between Devouringness and Abandonment. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2015, vol.67, n.2, pp.75-90. ISSN 1809-5267.
The purpose of this article is to place, dialectically, the representations of devouringness and abandonment, articulating them with the gap between the subject and the other. The article links the symbolization of both representations to the fantasy setting of Hilflosigkeit, a Freudian concept that calls to think upon the consequences of the original helplessness of the infant's body. Thus, we may consider neurosis and psychosis as products of the distance between the subjectivity of devouringness and abandonment - i.e., psychosis triggering the extreme difficulties of bridging that gap. Finally, we link the obstacles of this operation to body tear, a phenomenon displayed during psychotic episodes, in which the body confronts its original helplessness.
