CIDADE, Maria Luiza Rovaris e BICALHO, Pedro Paulo Gastalho de. Psychology and governmentality: debating sex and gender. Rev. Epos [online]. 2016, vol.7, n.1, pp.110-132. ISSN 2178-700X.
This study aims to present a methodological articulation between psychology, governmentality and the sex/gender system to analyze how the sex/gender system related to normative matrices and its regulatory ideals claims the compulsory status of heterosexuality and cisgenerity. Three sections related to the theme of sex/gender in psychological practices are presented to achieve this goal. Besides, some relevant questions can be addressed through this research, such as the questioning of psychological practices based on the theme of governmentality in Foucault's perspective; the concept of production of subjectivities; and some related feminist issues of sex/gender. The article's objective and methodology allows the realization of discussions involving the visibility of these themes and the process of denaturalization of some of the concepts presented in Psychology. In this way, it is suggested that the psychology's practices can be more local and emancipatory.
