BARRETO, Juerila Moreira et al. The collective subject discourse of circular dance participants with low back pain. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2020, vol.40, n.98, pp.109-118. ISSN 1415-711X.

Low back pain is a dysfunction that affects many people around the world; the use of integrative practices as prevention has been raising the interest of research on this problem. Symptoms and side effects manifested by women with nonspecific chronic low back pain after intervention with circular dance activities in an integrative practice center were identified. 19 women participated, with average age of 51.5 ± 6.8, 63.2% were married and 68.4% had intense pain. There were 16 sessions, twice a week, with 60 minutes each. Through the method of Collective Subject Discourse, we observed Key Expressions (EC) of the text that were organized in five Central Ideas (CI), namely: EC-A - Pain in the spine (CI = Pain reduction = 68.4 %); EC-B - Emotions (IC = emotional well-being = 63.2%); EC-C - Consequences of treatment (CI = Better body awareness 57.9%); EC-D - New challenges (CI = Other practices = 5.3%) EC-E - Unsuccessful treatment aspects (CI = 5.3% transient improvement). From these results, it is possible to emphasize that the group activity of the circular dance contributes in a positive way to the reduction of pain in nonspecific low back pain; improvement of emotional well-being and better body awareness.
