CORDEIRO, Aliciene Fusca Machado e ANTUNES, Mitsuko Aparecida Makino. Itard's pedagogical action in the education of Victor, the "savage of Aveyron": contribution to the history of psychology. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2020, vol.40, n.99, pp.296-306. ISSN 1415-711X.
At the beginning of the 19th century, Jean Marc-Gaspard Itard carried out pedagogical interventions with a boy found in the woods of southern France. From these experiences, two reports were written. Taking them as a basis, the objective of this article is to report a historical research, based on documents, which discusses Itard's contributions to the understanding of the relationships between education, learning and development in the constitution of the human being as a historical and cultural being. The aim was to articulate three different levels of analysis: the internal level, which refers to the concepts, assumptions and methods, related to Itard's work; the epistemic-methodological basis adopted by the author and the articulation between his work and the historical-social reality in which he lived. Through his work it is possible to reflect, among other issues, on the fragility and the importance of the bond between the student and the educator, the educator's conceptions that determine his pedagogical practice and how communication is present in the educational processes.
