RIBEIRO, Carla Regina  e  PINTO JUNIOR, Antonio Augusto. A representação social da criança hospitalizada: um estudo por meio do procedimento de desenho-estória com tema. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2009, vol.12, n.1, pp.31-56. ISSN 1516-0858.

The child hospitalization appears like a painful experience for the children and their relatives. Several feelings emerge from this situation, provoking doubts, anguish, suffering and pain. Front of it, the present article objectified to understand the social representation that the child have about hospitalization/hospital. Since, in this situation the major social actor is the own child. For both, was used like an teorical-metodological approach ,the reference of the Theory Of Social Representation and, like an instrument of collecting data, was used the Thematic Drawing with story, which was analized from the proposal of Aiello-Vaisberg (1997). The results showed that the children get anchored in two different theories about the representational object in question, in the first theory like an aid equipment, treatment, support and salvation; and in the second theory like a place of deprivation, exclusion, suffering and punishment.
