ARAUJO, Neuraci Gonçalves de e CERQUEIRA-SANTOS, Elder. Characteristics and impact of postpartum depression prevention programs in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy: systematic review. Rev. bras.ter. cogn. [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.1, pp.10-18. ISSN 1808-5687. https://doi.org/10.5935/1808-5687.20200003.
Postpartum depression affects 17,7% of mothers and has major consequences to them and their babies, wich indicate the need for prevention. This systematic review evaluated 13 randomized clinical treatments using that approach, initiated during pregnancy. The objective was to present the programs and analyze the results of the interventions and its content related to risk factors. The data was extracted from the Bvsalud, Pubmed, Scielo and PsyInfo databases, using the words (postpartum depression, perinatal depression, prenatal depression, postpartum depression) and (prevention or preventive or prevent or preventing.) and in portuguese ("depressão pósparto", "depressão perinatal") and (prevenção, intervenção preventiva). Qualitative and quantitative analysis showed that the majority of the interventions decreased depressive symptoms, and included: postpartum depression psychoeducation, problem solving training, relaxation, communication skills, parenthood, support network and partner communication. Analysis was limited due to lack of session description in some of the papers. Cognitive- behavioral interventions can decrease depression and its symptoms.
