SCORSOLINI-COMIN, Fabio; INOCENTE, David Forli e MIURA, Irene Kazumi. Evaluation of training, development and education programs in the organizational context: models and perspectives. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2011, vol.11, n.1, pp.37-53. ISSN 1984-6657.
The aim of this theoretical study is to present the state of the art in the evaluation of training, development, and education (TD&E) programs in Brazil. We present four models recurring in the literature: (a) four-level models, which assess reactions, learning, observable behavior change, and training results, (b) ultimate value model, which focuses on evaluation of results in terms of organizational change and the ultimate value of training, (c) integrated summative assessment model, which includes such elements as inputs, procedures, process, outcomes, and environment, and (d) integrated training impact assessment model, composed of the perception of organizational support, characteristics of the training, the clientele, among others. Regarding the education of professionals to evaluate such programs, there is a need to reflect on their position in the organization and how their knowledge can contribute effectively to a rigorous assessment, which encourages dialogue and does not stigmatize employees or stereotypically portray their shortcomings, limits, and possibilities.
