Having as reference the tale of Jorge Luis Borges, this article propose to work the subject’s constitution regarding to desire and the psychoanalytic notion of dreams. The theoretical framework of psychoanalysis, rich in its system of concepts, as the mirror stadium, Oedipus complex, body, dream, fantasy allow us to think original and concrete ways of how does the constitution of the subject by the desire that the Other invests. Ally with Borges tale, a literary illustration of that constitution becomes possible and it gives us new reflections about the theme.
