CARVALHO JUNIOR, Antônio Carlos Nunes de; AMPARO, Deise Matos do e NOGUEIRA, Raiane Nunes. The listening group as a clinical device in a psychosocial care center (CAPS II). Psicol. clin. [online]. 2019, vol.31, n.1, pp.123-143. ISSN 0103-5665. https://doi.org/10.33208/PC1980-5438v0031n01A06.
This article aims to discuss care in a Psychosocial Attention Center (CAPS II) through the process of symbolic mediation provided by the listening group device in its aspects related to the subjective appropriation of excessive experiences in the context of speech that is built collectively in the group. Participant research methodology was used, with insertion of the researcher in the meetings of the listening group and data collection through systematized records, made after each meeting, in field diaries. The importance of the group in the CAPS was manifested, both as a clinical device and malleable environment, space of continence and reception for recognition and elaboration of excessive experiences, anguish and traumatic experiences, as well as a bearer of traumatic effects. In conclusion, the group is fundamental as a space for listening and speaking within the scope of the CAPS, and this activity needs to be better framed and integrated as a device.
