The present study aimed to analysethe quality of life and the presence of depressive symptoms in healthcare professionals who work directly with patients infected with COVID-19, in a hospital in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. An investigation was carried out using a socio-demographic questionnaire, the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) to assess depressive symptoms and the "WHOQOL-bref" Quality of Life Scale. The sample consisted of 51 professionals who work in the Intensive Care Center and Admissions Unit, with an average age of 29.5 years (± 6.9). The predominance was female (82.4%) and from the total sample 43.1% tested positive COVID. Of the sampled professionals, 60.8% have depressive symptoms, with a moderate degree predominating (27.5%), there was a statistically significant inverse association between the levels of depression (BDI) with the Physical, Psychological, Social and General domains, that is, as higher the depression scores as lower thequality-of-lifescores in these domains. Based on these results, associations are observed relating the depressive symptoms and the quality of life of health professionals working in the pandemic of COVID-19.
