This study aimed to guarantee evidences of construct validity (factorial, convergent and discriminant) and reliability of the Religious Attitudes Scale, considering its expanded version (RAS-20). Participants were 190 people with a mean age of 32.2 years, mostly females, Catholic or Protestant. They answered the RAS-20, the Religious Belief Scale and demographic questions. Models with one, two and four factors were compared by confirmatory factor analyses, this latter presenting the best fit indices. The four factors solution (behavior, knowledge, feeling, and embodiment) showed acceptable reliability (homogeneity, internal consistency, and composite reliability), and evidences of convergent and discriminant validities. In conclusion, the RAS-20 can be appropriately used to know the correlates of religious attitudes, especially in the religious arrays Catholic, Protestant and Spiritist.
