This article resulted from research conducted in a community geographically located on the property of a sugar and alcohol plant in the state of Alagoas, northeastern of Brazil. The main objective of the study is to discuss the processes of subjectivation of subjects who live and work in this territory. We conducted unstructured interviews with residents, group discussions with plant workers, community visits and records in field diaries. We used the theoretical framework of Michel Foucault to discuss the process of subjectivation in the context under study. The research allowed us to visualize different vectors of subjectivation that constitute everyday life in the community and compose forms of existence of these subjects. We highlight, among these, the separation between what they call life "at the plant" and life "out there", relations with labor, violence and religion
