CAMICIA, Edgmara Giordani; SILVA, Stefany Bischoff da e SCHMIDT, Beatriz. Transgenerationality's Approach in Individual Systemic Therapy: A Clinical Case Study. Pensando fam. [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.1, pp.68-82. ISSN 1679-494X.
This work consists in a clinical case study about individual systemic therapy of a female young adult, held in a school clinic. In particular, priority was given to transgenerational issues addressed throughout the therapeutic process, which occurred during eight months, with weekly sessions. As requires systemic thinking and practice, the treatment considered the client as part of a network of relationships and experiences, emphasizing the meanings that she attributed to these events, to encourage transformations in order to become more consistent and adaptive. Thus, the clinical work aimed to promote quality of life and healthier relationships, especially with respect to the family of origin, conjugality, coparenting and parenting practices. This study may contribute to the professional practice of systemic therapists, as it sheds light on the individual therapy for young adults, which still seems little discussed in the literature, notably in Brazil.
