PINCOLINI, Ana Maria Franchi e HUTZ, Claudio Simon. Subjective Well-Being (SWB) in families with sexual abuse history in the family. Gerais, Rev. Interinst. Psicol. [online]. 2012, vol.5, n.1, pp.03-22. ISSN 1983-8220.
This study assessed the Subjective Well-Being (SWB) in victims of sexual abuse in the family and in their relatives after the conclusion of lawsuits. The study was exploratory, quantitative, and qualitative. The Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) and the Positive and Negative Affective Scale (PANAS) were applied to the adults, victims, and victims' siblings. Despite quantitative, the data were discussed qualitatively. The results demonstrated that the mothers presented lower levels of SWB if compared to the fathers. The SWLS was higher in the guardians of reconstituted families and with lawsuits which resulted in convictions. In general, the victims presented higher levels of SWB than their siblings, suggesting that they need to be given more attention from the systems of protection/assistance.
