CAMPOS, Érico Bruno Viana. Considerations on the implications of curricular guidelines for Psychology intern training. Psicol. Ensino & Form. [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.2, pp.100-118. ISSN 2177-2061.
This essay is based on the author's experience as a psychology professor. The aim is to present and discuss the status of contemporary psychologist training in the light of changes in the design of psychology degree courses proposed and implemented by the New Curriculum Guidelines from the Ministry of Education (MEC), which has reformulated university education standards in Brazil. The replacement of a minimum curriculum of content-based disciplines by a more flexible one organized by areas of training and directed at developing skills and competencies has led to a paradigm shift in the training of psychologists and enabled the development of training with emphases appropriate to current professional demands and regional and national realities. Given the complex scientific and professional context, the formation of an ethical, critical sense of responsibility is more important than ever in the university training of psychology undergraduates.
