The present study to indicate the level of primary mental abilities developed and concordance of career choice with vocational interests, in a homogeneous sample of 30 freshmen to his law degree at a public institution of higher education located north Mexico city in the state of Hidalgo. We applied a battery of tests made by HMP and Kuder. Results are discussed describing students are below the average value in the development of skills in vocational preferences there was a percentage above the average value, saying that you need to perform a more customized to obtain better results and to make a proposal to the academic activities contributing to the training of students and educational problem solving.
