MARIN RUEDA, Fabián Javier; MARTINS, Luciana Julio e CAMPOS, Keli Cristina de Lara. Employability: what do university students understand about it ?. Psicol. teor. prat. [online]. 2004, vol.6, n.2, pp.63-73. ISSN 1516-3687.
Employability can be understood as the actions taken by people to develop skills and to search for favourable knowledge, with the intent at obtaining a position at the formal or informal job market. With this in mind, this research investigated what university students know about the concept of employability and what measures they have taken to acquire it. The subjects were 254 university students of a private university in the state of São Paulo who were in their last year of Psychology, Business Administration and Civil Engineering. A questionnaire was devised containing two questions: a multiple-choice question and an open question. The results show that students from the three courses have some knowledge about the concept. Although students from different courses presented some particularities related to employability, they have shown to adopt similar actions to achieve employability.
