The theme proposed in this issue of Journal de Psychoanalysis led me back to some reflections on the clinical case of an adopted boy treated for some years in psychoanalysis. I believe that this article can bring associations and be a possible collaboration, since vicissitudes related to formation/ deformation alternate throughout the report, as well as reflections on the development of parenting. A brief introduction to adoption will be followed by a case report that involved working these issues with both the boy and the parents.
