The subjective well-being is a growing interest in the area of Psychology. This interest is shown in studies under different titles and key words: happiness, satisfaction, and positive affect, besides the subjective evaluation of quality of life. Subjective well being is concerned with what people think and feel about their lives. The distinct perspectives on the matter have defined subjective well-being as a wide category of a phenomenon that includes emotional responses, satisfaction domains, and the global judgments of life’s satisfactions. The present study introduces this new area of Psychology, its conceptual and evaluative aspects, as well as its main contributions to comprehend the life events impact on quality of life.
