ASSUMPCAO, Francisco Baptista e BERNAL, Marília Penna. High functioning autism and quality of life: perception of the children, family and educator. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2018, vol.38, n.94, pp.99-110. ISSN 1415-711X.
Quality of Life and Autism Spectrum Disorder is a subject that has aroused greater interest in recent years, however, there are few studies that seek this evaluation from the perspective of the child. The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of life of children with high functioning autism, analyzing the index of agreement between child, family and educator, as well as to analyze the sensitivity of the questionnaire used when answered by third parties. A total of 30 children between 4 and 12 years old with high functioning autism, their relatives and 24 educators were studied. As an evaluation tool, the Autoquestionnaire Qualité de vie Enfant Imagé - AUQEI was used. The results showed a good consistency in the response of the three groups analyzed, in which all the children presented a satisfactory quality of life index. AUQEI demonstrated good sensitivity to evaluate quality of life in childhood through third parties. The results show that the children evaluated are able to provide information about themselves, their quality of life and what makes them happy
