TAVARES, Carolina Araújo; ZANETTI, Sandra Aparecida Serra e SEI, Maíra Bonafé. Dreaming of existing: oniric production in child consulting as revealing to the clinical understanding. Estilos clin. The therapist-patient relationship in psychoanalysis goes beyond the analytic setting, including the oneiric production, among other contents. This article reports the formative experience of a therapist who during the initial interviews with the family of a child patient was able to capture the underlying essence of what was said and convert that content into dream material. This elaboration served as a mainstay for the appropriation carried out by the parents in the following sessions. From this new condition, the child's healthy development has become possible and desired. The importance of the process of dreaming is discussed as an essential part of existence itself.
