This text approaches the construction subjective of the patient, specifically that one with cancer diagnosis, a culturally mark illness and with negative symbolic representations. The importance of this understanding standes out, over all in that it says respect to its repercussions for the emotional balance of the patient, who affects, significantly, its general clinical picture. We corroborate with literature in the which carried through studies indicate that the representations constructed for the culture added to the effect produced through its treatment can influence in the form of confrontation of the illness. Ahead of this, quarrels and reflections about of this thematic one are important in the measure where they can contribute for a bigger deepening of the practical clinic in the hospital context, aiming at a treatment that can contemplate the organic one in such a way as the psychic one of these patients, promoting of this form, a whole welfare, such as praised for the World Health Organization.
