Have participated 10 children between 9 and 12 years old, interviewed in waiting room. The majority were female (N=9), used only insulin pen injector (N=6), performed self-administration of insulin without caregivers supervision (N=8), learned to inject with the parents (N=8) and reported receiving family support for the treatment, especially emotional support and to the diet. It was observed that most of them (N=6) had poor glycemic control (HbA1C >8). The results of that study can contribute to the planning of educational programs to patients, their families and health team to deal with DM1.
