The role of the health professional in the context of oncological palliative care is studied, emphasizing the evaluation of the subject and the assistance related to desires, pain and suffering, in their last moments of life. Issues as the degree of mediation of the health team during hospitalization and listening to each case peculiarities, with its consequent impact on the resources usually offered, are analyzed, aiming the improvement of treatment. Through the contemplation of the main symptoms presented, which meaning transcend their regular biological effect and relate exquisitely to this period, it was possible to change the approach of the health team, providing conditions so that the subject can take control of his life, rescuing his biography before the inexorable end that approaches.
