ERLICH, Hilana e ALBERTI, Sonia. The subject between psychoanalysis and science. Psicol. rev. (Belo Horizonte) [online]. 2008, vol.14, n.2, pp.47-63. ISSN 1677-1168.
Lacan`s idea that ‘the subject psychoanalysis deals with is the subject of science’ (1966), though well known in his milieu, requires skillful handling when it comes to articulating it with other discourses, specially when those discourses are submitted precisely to scientific references. Derived from a common movement, the subject of science and that of psychoanalysis interact in many aspects, but they also differ radically when confronted with the real, the symbolic and the imaginary of the clinic. This article verifies the link between those aspects, referring to Freud, Lacan and other authors, in order to examine and sharpen the concept of subject in psychoanalysis, so as to offer one more instrument to those who sustain the political function of psychoanalysis in the world, in the interchange with other discourses. We conclude that psychoanalysis may sustain unexpected appearances of the subject.
