Nowadays it is common that couples do not cope with divorce or separation, occasioning sometimes hostile attitudes in order to distance the child's other parent. Such acts may be considered Parental Alienation, where although sometimes there is no intention to harm the child, this turns out to have his psychic constitution unstructured. This paper seeks to show, through dialogue between the Family Law and Psychoanalysis, the scenario in which the parental alienation happens and the consequences that this phenomenon implies. It can be seen that when parents are able to respect their child and not use it as an object of revenge, the child acquires the best resources to withstand and understand marital disruption.
