This study aimed to understand the activity of the professionals of interdisciplinary teams in Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS). Specifically, it was amied to highlight the collective dimension which the interdisciplinary work in these institutions consists. Therefore, the Psychodynamics of Work and Ergology were taken as the theoretical foundation of this research. The study was conducted with 19 professionals of three CAPS teams of a medium-sized municipality of Paraíba. A qualitative methodology was used through observation techniques and collective meetings discussion of the work activity. The results revealed that work in mental health and psychosocial perspective involves several situations such as variability of demand, different types of users, performed procedures, contact with families and requirements such as the need to share activities. In this sense, the collective dimension of interdisciplinary work strengthens the management of the activity, however it seems to be fundamental the empowerment of the work collective with a more effective group space.
