Studies demonstrate that a positive Teacher-Student Relationship (TSR) can reflect on the Academic Performance (AP) of adolescent students. The objective of this research was to carry out a literature review to investigate the associations between TSR and AP in adolescent students. Databases were PePSIC, PsycINFO, SciELO, Web of Science. Publications between 2017 and 2023 were included, in Portuguese, English or Spanish, populations between 10 and 19 years old. At least one of the descriptors needed to be in the title, keywords, subject, summary or KeyWords Plus/Index Terms. They needed to demonstrate some dimension of influence between the TSR and the AP and be scientific articles with free access or via University. 26 surveys met the criteria. Results indicate that TSR and AP of adolescent students are significantly and positively correlated, directly and indirectly. No Latin American studies were evidenced, there was inconsistency in the definition of variables, measurement of AP mainly through grades, prioritization of the students vision when measuring TSR, 95% were non-experimental research and 86% were cross-sectional. There is a need for more diversified and generalizable studies.TSR and AP are variables whose definition is not consensual, which can lead to inaccuracy in research.
