RODRIGUES, Luciana e HENNIGEN, Inês. Journalism, the question of truth and subjectivity production process. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2011, vol.63, n.3, pp.45-57. ISSN 1809-5267.
From a knowledge-power field of Foucaultian studies, we question the production of truth in journalism and its implications for the contemporary subjectivity process. In a theoretical reflection, we deal with notions such as veracity and expertise in media data processing, and current journalistic resources, such as the 'novelization´ and dramatization of real life stories, to discuss their effects on the establishment of what is said and accepted as truth. We find out that such features and current journalistic resources constitute strategies that seek to certify and thrill, capturing subjects by seduction to the will to truth. Therefore, stories made visible through journalism offer subjects the possibility of recognition and identification, creating certain ways of being.
