JESUS, Luciana Oliveira de  e  SCHNEIDE, Daniela Ribeiro. Vulnerability, Support and Social Inclusion: Trajectories of Students Residing in University Housing. Pesqui. prát. psicossociais [online]. 2021, vol.16, n.1, pp.1-14. ISSN 1809-8908.

The trajectory of university students residing in student housing is marked by the condition of social vulnerability, and social and institutional resources are necessary to enable the continuity of the studies. The article aims to understand how the relationship between residents and the university is constituted, pathways to access and permanence challenges. Based on qualitative approach, it is a participatory intervention research, in which instruments like participant observation and interviews were used. Results elucidated the importance of social support networks and the coping of social vulnerabilities before entering the university. Concerning the relationship with the university, residents reported how to access social care policies, experienced prejudice due to the condition of dwellers, stressing the demand for university resources (pedagogical, psychosocial, cultural) related to difficulties experienced in the university and in the dwelling. Actions are necessary to promote approximations between university and housing, as well as strategies that help overcome inequalities.
