The standardization for Puerto Rico of the WAIS-III included an evaluation of a sample of adults with a diagnosis of epilepsy. The performance of this clinical group was compared with a matched group from the normalization sample of the test. The results obtained are consonant with what the literature presents about the cognitive and neuropsychological performance of persons with epileptic conditions similar to those of the sample recruited for this study. These results confirm the clinical usefulness of the EIWA-III as a valid instrument for the intellectual assessment of persons with neurological disorders. The test provides results deemed to be consistent with the expectancy of the clinical group and consonant with previous research.
