The contemporary epistemology has seen a gradual emptying of its normative dimension, due to the epistemic criteria’s failure to solve the so-called “problem of demarcation”. In this article, I study the relationship between psychoanalysis and science from another point of view. Lacan’s notion of “extimity” plays a major role in my argument.
