FISCHER, Héden Cardoso Rodrigues  e  LIMA, Suzana Maria Valle. Reliability and internal consistency analysis of an instrument for the diagnosis of conditions for organizational change. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2005, vol.5, n.1, pp.13-44. ISSN 1984-6657.

Organizational change has been a rather common theme in bot? scientific studies and management concerns. However, there is a shortage of studies focusing its main predictors. There are few avaiable instruments to diagnosing, planning and evaluating change results. This work presents the evaluation of such an instrument ("Indicators for Diagnosis of Facilitating Conditions for Organizational Change"). The evaluation included a reliability testing, and a exploration of the instrument factor structure. The reliability results indicate that the instrument includes four scales with appropriate internal consistency. It allowed the identification of three scales which measure facilitating conditions for change (management practices, information flow and new forms of doing work, and one scale which measure conditions which hamper change (beliefs about change). There are also promising scales (change resistance and change support by stakeholders) and weak scales (external envlronment pressures for change and compliance with norms patterns and hierarchy) which is recommended more studies to improve the instrument. The article ends by describing and discussing strengths and weakness of both the study and the tested instrument
