This paper has the experience of damage reducers (RDS) and their training in a school Harm Reduction CAPS adimplemented by the Health Department of Uberlândia / MG in partnership with the Federal University of Uberlândia. The training of rds was de dicated to the care of people who abuse of alcohol and other drugs and do not access the network of health care available. The service is done in the territory where they live and in these contexts the RDS try to create novel strategies for the provision of health care. Such practice -informed by the Harm Reduction policy demonstrated its effective ness in building relationship with users and search with them for a project of life and self-care. Furthermore, we found that the similarities between Harm Reduction and Therapeutic Accompaniment helped us understand and lever age success ful experiences in Harm Reduction.
