DUARTE, Luiz Fernando Dias. Geração, fratria e gênero: um estudo de mandato transgeracional e subjetivação diferencial. Trivium [online]. 2011, vol.3, n.1, pp.1-19. ISSN 2176-4891.
Four generations of a wealthy middle-class Brazilian family have their memoirs presented and analyzed in search of understanding for the divergent personal destinies within the lineages - and, especially, the deviant career of a mentally disturbed member of the family. The analytic focus centers upon the process of "transgenerational mandate" that flows perceptibly in the family history and in the development of the selves, in obedience to cultural definitions of generation, birth order and gender differences.
