Introduction:

Group practices have been a technical resource of great potential for health promotion in primary healthcare. This study sought to comprehend the role of the healthcare team in the field of collective practices, especially in Primary Healthcare (PH) groups.

Method:

A qualitative research was conducted, through semi-structured interviews with ten participants of a health promotion group and four meetings observations of that group. Data were triangulated and analyzed through thematic content analysis.

Results and Discussions:

The results showed that health workers seem to be committed to the group practices, establishing a relationship of bonding, acceptance, closeness, and patient-centered care. Besides, these professionals were performing a live work in act, marked by respect, affection, and acknowledgment of users in leading roles of their history.

Conclusion:

The study demonstrated relevance in group practices developed on PH, in a widening conception of care, which is one of this papers’ contributions.
