CIRINO, Oscar. The desire, the body and the pleasures in Michel Foucault. Mental [online]. 2007, vol.5, n.8, pp.77-89. ISSN 1679-4427.
This article covers some books by Michel Foucault, specially the three volumes on the History of Sexuality, and analyzes how the topics on the body, on the pleasure and on the desire are elaborated and articulated. It is shown that the critique to the desire theory, taken as the focus of the problem concerning sexuality, is only indicated in the first volume (The Will to Know), and is developed on the two remaining volumes (The Use of Pleasure and Concern for Self). The consideration of the moral problem of sexual activity becomes the new focus of the investigation in these two last books. The present paper also seeks to establish a comparison between Foulcault's above approach and Lacan's view on psychoanalysis.
