LIMA, Ana Celma Dantas e JOHANN, Rejane Lucia Veiga Oliveira. Arthur Bispo do Rosário: art as a language of schizophrenia. Rev. Psicol. Saúde [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.2, pp.99-107. ISSN 2177-093X.
It was made an analysis of some works of Arthur Bispo do Rosário through a literature review about his life, work and mental disorder. The sergipano artist has lived most of his life in Rio de Janeiro, interned in a psychiatric institution with a diagnosis of Paranoid Schizophrenia. This study found that the life and work of Arthur Bispo do Rosario became so close that often could not be distinguished. His art expresses an attempt to a psychic reorganization, as seen in his mandalas and circular works, common productions in schizophrenic patients. His works of art also bring elements from his hometown like embroidery and religiosity. In his productions, he recreated the world according to his ravings and brought meaning to his life. Today, the life and work of this artist inspire movies, books and academia around the world.
