Gestalt therapy is a psychological approach which lives up to the practice in different fields of work, meeting the existing demands. At the hospital, with the adoption of the biopsychosocial model of health, the psychologist is part of a multi or interdisciplinary team. The present study aims at elucidating the role of gestalt therapists in hospitals, taking into consideration the understanding, attitude and therapeutic possibilities of this assistance to sick people. To this end, we try to reference authors of Health Psychology, whose way of expressing themselves is in harmony with the gestalt approach. Taking into account the potential and possibilities of the human being and of the therapeutic relationship, we believe in creating meanings in the health-disease process, with the realization of more healthier choices.
