MOUSINHO, Renata; CAMARA, Andrea  e  GIKOVATE, Carla. Who sings, scares away his woes: an essay on autism, blindness, singing, inclusion, overcome and success. Rev. psicopedag. [online]. 2016, vol.33, n.101, pp.196-205. ISSN 0103-8486.

Autism is a neurobiological disorder characterized by social difficulties, communication and restricted interests. It is estimated that about 10 % of autistic present talents, among them the musical. There are cognitive assumptions that may underlie the emergence of such talent. The paper was based on a true story of a young autistic and blind men, that studied at the Music School of a important federal university, exposing the challenges and solutions found by him and educational staff along the graduation. To overcome the difficulties it was necessary detailed observation, creating and rethinking the strategies on a day-to-day basis, and a constant "belief" of all the involved. It is expected that such experience, discussed in the light of the neurosciences, could be generalized, serving as a model and inspiration for many areas educators.
